| Medford serves as the industrial, retail and professional
‘hub’ of Southern Oregon. Just 27 miles north of the Oregon-California border,
the County Seat of Medford is an easy drive from all local communities of
the beautiful Rogue River Valley. Interstate 5 traverses the entire north-south
corridor of the valley. The Medford-Jackson County International Airport provides
easy connecting flights with Portland, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles
on a daily basis. The surrounding communities of Ashland, Phoenix, Talent, Jacksonville, Central Point, White City, Gold Hill, Eagle Point, Rogue River, Shady Cove and Trail are all positive contributing factors to the economic strength of this beautiful Southern Oregon Valley. The City of Grants Pass is just 25 miles north of Medford. It is situated in the heart of Josephine County, and the beautiful Three Rivers Area, comprised of the Applegate River, the Illinois River and the Rogue River. Josephine County offers many scenic wonders, including The Oregon Caves, Hellgate Canyon on the Rogue River and the wild and scenic portion of the Rogue River. The mild 4-season climate in Southern Oregon insures the successful agriculture of pears and vineyards, in addition to personal gardening hobbies. Surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Siskiyou, Cascade and Coastal Range Mountains, pear orchards bloom profusely in the spring. Ashland supports two wineries and Medford is home to Harry & David Bear Creek Corporation and Jackson & Perkins Roses. The campus of Southern Oregon University, a four-year university, with it’s student body of 5800, is located in Ashland. Rogue Community College, a two-year state supported community college is located in Grants Pass, with a secondary campus located in Medford. The Medford area supports a large and extensive medical community, with two hospitals. Ashland and Grants Pass provide full and modern medical services in their locations. Southern Oregon proudly represents a bench mark of leadership in available medical services. The Oregon Shakespearean Theatre, Britt Music Festival, Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, and the Concerts in the Park are only a few of the top-notch attractions that are available in this area. There are over a dozen public and private golf courses to tee off from. The 215-mile dazzling course of the Rogue River meanders through this Southern Oregon region, ending it’s course at the Pacific Ocean. The Applegate River and Illinois River provide excellent swimming and fishing opportunities. The beautiful, pristine Crater Lake National Park lies Northeast just 80 miles.
